P4280267Flint–April 28–The Flint Islamic Center hosted its Spring Bazaar Saturday from 2pm to 8pm, providing a venue for Muslim businesses to sell to Muslim customers.

The event was visited by several hundred visitors; perhaps 90% of the visitors were women–they  spent some money at the available booths, as well.  There were approximately 20 available stores selling dresses, Islamic religious items, perfume, honey, and calligraphy.

In addition, there was a playroom for children filled with two bounce houses and many delicious confectionary sweets.

Basem Rammaha ordered a four corner booth at the Bazaar; an experienced businessman, Mr. Rammaha also annually orders booths at the Dearborn Festival in June.

Mr. Rammaha and his wife together run several businesses, including his wife’s business “Favors by Iman,” and “Nutrabee,” a business to sell health products based on honey.  The family also sells adhan clocks at a reasonable price.

Mr. Rammaha is an engineer, forced to retire by health difficulties, who explains he was cured by the very honey products he now sells.

In the early afternoon, Mr. Rammaha was optimistic, hoping to “clean up.”

“It’s great to have such events,” he said, “more than once a year.” To contact Basem: call 313-622-1270.

He was happy with the number of people in attendance, who had come from as far away as Detroit and Lansing (each an hour or more by car from Flint).
